Create & Manage Up-Sells

A guide on all the different ways to promote products and upsells on the Operator Portal.

Upsell Modifiers:

The first way is by using modifiers to upsell customers. A modifier is an extra add-on that pops up for customers when they click on a product in the app. 

Good examples of effective modifiers:

Would you like to add a side?

  • Can include salads, fries, extra protein etc.
  • Great for any main dishes

Would you like a drink with your order?

  • Can add paired wines for specific dishes e.g. match a Shiraz to a rump steak or a Riesling to a salmon dish. 
  • Can list different beer options and ask the customer if they would like to add a schooner to the order

Would you like to add a sauce for $1?

  • Can include on entrees + mains
  • Quick + easy upsell for customer

Add an extra shot for $4?

Make this a double?

  • Great to use on spirits or cocktails
  • Hugely successful in a number of me&u venues

Adding extra ingredients to products:

Would you like extra avocado?

Would you like extra cheese?

Would you like extra bacon?

  • Minor add-on for customers that they may not have ever considered when using a paper menu

Specials and Featured Products

The next way to promote products on me&u is through the use of ‘Featured Products’ and ‘Specials’ categories. 

Specials: 

  1.  Making a category a ‘Special’

    • Click on ‘Categories’ on the left-hand side
    • Click on the category you want to mark as a special
    • Scroll down and tick yes for the “Make this a special?” section
    • Save and publish

Featured Product: 

  1. Making a product your 'Featured Product'

    • Go to Services
    • Click on the service you want to a featured product
    • Select the product you would like to be featured
    • Save and publish
